LOS ANGELES, CA (PRWEB) October 29, 2004

Soft Gel Technologies, Inc. ® has set its sights on helping children worldwide in preventing blindness, illness and death by donating over 1.3 million soft gelatin capsules of vitamin A to the Vitamin Angel Alliance’s Vitamin ‘See’ Campaign. Children require vitamin A, in particular, because it is necessary for vision, bone growth, and normal bodily development, and plays an active role in a child’s immune system. Partnering with the Vitamin Angel Alliance as a Corporate Angel helps save the eyesight of thousands of children, who might normally go blind or die because of vitamin A deficiency. It is the company’s vision to assist the Vitamin Angels with their campaign, and participate in brightening the futures of children.

The Vitamin Angel Alliance has distributed vitamin A supplements to prevent childhood blindness since its founding with vitamins and supplements donated by health care companies. Nutritional products are contributed to the Alliance by an ever-enlarging association of Vitamin Angels—a consortium of nutritional supplement manufacturers, distributors and retailers. These goods are then donated to charitable health care facilities and programs located in countries across the globe, including the United States.

“We chose to participate in this humanitarian cause because childhood blindness can be prevented with one single nutrient and we admire the commitment of the Vitamin Angels Alliance in addressing the needs of so many children every year,” remarked Ron Udell, president of Soft Gel Technologies, Inc. “This is an organization we are proud and honored to support.”

The Vitamin Angel Alliance is a non-profit, non-sectarian organization dedicated to providing basic nutrition and fighting blindness around the world to people in need since 1994. They work in partnership with Direct Relief International, a disaster relief and medical assistance organization, and provide health education and nutritional supplements to individuals, families, and communities that are medically underserved or at risk of a specific condition or illness worldwide.
