Snowmass Village, Colo. (PRWEB) June 10, 2005
Snowmass Village, Colo., is best known as one of the top ski resorts in the nation, but it also has the honor of being the birthplace of such renowned summer festivals as the Aspen Food & Wine Classic and Jazz Aspen Snowmass.
We would like to introduce our newest round of summer events: fast-rising stars in the worlds of music, food, and wellness. The events promise to prove, once again, that Snowmass is a compelling launching pad for innovative events and a nationally-attractive summer destination all on its own.
Snowmass new and notable events include:
The Snowmass Chili Pepper & Brew Fest (June 17-19):
In only its second year, the Snowmass Chili Pepper & Brew Fest has managed to lure such top performers as Keller Williams and Michael Franti & Spearhead. ItÂs garnered such admiration that the International Chili Society moved both its district and regional competitions to the town, and it doubled the number of top participating microbrews to 40 in just a year. With its winning combination of chili, microbrew tasting and hot music, this event promises -- and delivers -- a killer season opener. The Snowmass Wellness Experience (July 15-17):
In its first year, the Snowmass Wellness Experience lured such luminaries as Deepak Chopra and yoga guru Bikram Choudhury. This year Snowmass has broken all records with a line-up of events and speakers like no other mountain wellness event. Chopra is returning to join other keynote speakers Joan Borysenko, Len Horowitz, and Elliot Dacher. Two world movie premieres, 16 different forms of yoga classes, pavilion tents on massage, nutrition and medical health, a dynamic vendor village, cooking demonstrations, medicinal plant guided walks and more ensure this event offers something for anyone interested in their health, well being, and rejuvenation of the mind, body, and spirit. Massive Music & Movies (July 7-9, Aug. 4-6 & 25-27):
Those missing the old-time experience of heading out to the drive-in, but whom also enjoy their local townÂs outdoor summer concert series, will love Massive Music & Movies which combines the best of both worlds. In only its second year, Massive Music & Movies provides free concerts from the likes of Shawn Colvin, Eric Lindel, Charlie Musselwhite, the Derek Trucks Band, the Psychedelic Furs, and MotownÂs renowned Funk Brothers all paired with classic movies such as Animal House, Pretty in Pink, and The Sound of Music. Fall in Love with Aspen/Snowmass (Sept. 9-18): Those who think New England provides the most beautiful fall scenery in the U. S. have never seen the Rocky Mountain aspens turn to brilliant gold nor experienced a 10-day extravaganza like "Fall in Love," and itÂs time to rectify this oversight. In its first year, Fall in Love boasted 40 different events, ranging from cooking demonstrations to a Hot Air Balloon Festival, to bike rides, half-marathons, an Oktoberfest, Food & Jazz Festival, photography contests and more.
Snowmass, which is located only nine miles from downtown Aspen, Colorado, is accessible via four regional airports (Aspen, Eagle, Grand Junction, and Denver), and its 95 percent bike-in, bike-out lodging makes convenience, value, and summer affordability the buzz words of the season.
